Another week of fights, another controversial decision.

While this holiday week's MMA schedule was relatively tame in comparison to the rest of an extremely busy month, Bellator Fighting Championships did on Saturday night host its final season-five event, Marcin Held was awarded a hotly contested split-decision win on the evening's main card.

Our readers focused on a number of topics in this week's edition of The Sunday Junkie. But the winner of our weekly reader-feedback feature, Maryland's Bruce Hales, contends there should be no question as to why Held was given the win.

Urban Meyer seeks balance, success

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Before Urban Meyer signed his Ohio State contract, he got another one in the mail. This contract was written on pink paper by his 21-year-old daughter Nicole, a volleyball player at Georgia Tech. In it, she listed all the things her father would have to do if he wanted to return to coaching football. It states that he must exercise at least every other day, eat three meals a day, make every effort to see Nicole and her sister, Gisela, play volleyball and limit the number of hours he spends on football.

Gruesome video: Ronda Rousey nearly snaps Julia Budd?s arm in half

Ronda Rousey may be just four fights into her MMA career, but she's looking more and more like an interesting challenge for the women at the top of the 145-pound division to face.

Who knows if she could withstand the scary striking attack of Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, but we do know she'll bring the most vicious submission game we've ever seen in female fighting.

Coming into last night's Strikeforce card, Rousey had three submissions wins in a combined 99 seconds. She posted her scariest yet against Julia Budd. Budd's deformed arm is proof.

After a few seconds of absorbing strikes, Rousey got her hands on Budd and eventually dumped her to the ground. The 24-year-old scored the mount in seconds and quickly transition to an armbar. Budd refused to tap and her arm was bent backwards. All that in 39 seconds.

With tourney title on line, Thiago Santos hoping for ground battle at Bellator 59

MMA pre-fight talk is often bland, even predictable. After all, in a sport where fractions of inches and seconds can mean the difference between winning and losing, why tip your hand and give opponents a potential advantage?

But in advance of Saturday's Bellator 59 event, heavyweight tournament finalist Thiago Santos is making no attempt to hide his strategy.

"I'm a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, and the ground is my world," Santos said. "I know if this fight with Eric Prindle goes to the ground, I'm going to have the advantage."

War Machine, Mariusz Pudzianowski among Saturday winners

Polish heavyweight and five-time World's Strongest Man winner Mariusz Pudzianowski avenged a May loss to James Thompson with a contentious majority-decision win in the main event of Saturday's KSW 17 event in Lodz, Poland.

Pudzianowski clearly dropped the opening round after Thompson outstruck and outgrappled his foe. In the second, Pudzianowski battled back to land a few shots of his own, and most expected the two-round fight to head to an overtime frame.

It did not, and Pudzianowski was awarded a majority-decision win.

A deeper look at C.J. Spiller

Lost in the chaos of Buffalo Bills receiver Steve Johnson's controversial touchdown celebration and the New York Jets' frantic finish was the first start at running back for Buffalo's C.J. Spiller. He rushed for 55 yards and caught three passes for 15 yards in Buffalo's 28-24 loss to the Jets. He also returned a punt for nine yards. The 2010 first-round pick showed flashes. But Spiller had his biggest issues running up the middle against the Jets' defense.
