Now that Jim Harbaugh has left Stanford for the 49ers, he's going to bringing the West Coast offense back.
Walsh and Harbaugh spent some time together before Walsh's death in 2007, and the veteran coach endorsed Stanford's hiring of Harbaugh. And now Harbaugh wants to create an offense that likely would have made Walsh smile.
Harbaugh told csnbayarea.com that now as he gets a little free time, he's going to be looking at tapes of Walsh from the 1980s, including installing the offense and holding team meetings.
NFL Films shipped a bunch of tapes and DVD from its archives to the 49ers' offices in Santa Clara, replacing numerous videos that have gone missing over the years. Under Walsh, the 49ers taped all team meetings, and NFL Films had many of those.
