In what would prove to be the third major upset of the evening, Tim Carpenter scored a victory over Daniel Gracie and advanced past the opening round of Bellator Fighting Championships' first-ever light-heavyweight tournament.The bout headlined Bellator 38, which featured all four of the eight-man tournament's quarterfinal matchups.
The night, though, was memorable for two other reasons: Bellator's second-ever inverted-triangle choke - and a woeful performance by the night's officials.
