Moss to Jets a good idea or a bad idea?

In an ESPNNewYork.com "Hot Button" debate, reporters Rich Cimini and Jane McManus took sides on whether the New York Jets should pursue receiver Randy Moss for 2011.

McManus wrote:
The popping off, the reality shows, possible mug shots -- it couldn't be any more drama than the team dealt with last season. Between alleged harassment, Internet scandals and Tripgate, the Jets' PR staff is now fully equipped to manage all kinds of unforeseen nightmares.
Moss? That's cake.

Cimini wrote:
Moss caught only nine passes in four games last season with the Patriots, who sent him packing. If that's all he could manage on a pass-happy team with Tom Brady at quarterback, how would he handle a run-oriented offense with a still-developing Mark Sanchez?
With Moss, it's all about motivation. If he couldn't find it last season, a contract year, what makes the Jets think he's going to play like a Jet on a short-term deal? Stay away.

The topic also was discussed on ESPN's "First Take." The consensus was Moss would be worth the gamble.
