Chad Mendes ends UFC 148 decision streak

The first six fights at UFC 148 ended in a decision. Thankfully, Chad Mendes ended the streak with a first round TKO of Cody McKenzie.

Mendes, a Division I All-American wrestler, appeared to be a fighter who could be susceptible to McKenzie's well-known guillotine. To keep out of the submission attempt, Mendes came out swinging. He knocked McKenzie to the ground with a body shot, the finished with ground and pound. The fight was stopped 31 seconds in the first round.
