Jets claim former Dolphins WR

The Miami Dolphins had arguably the worst group of wide receivers in the preseason. This was a group that couldn't make plays and could catch the football with any consistency. Still, the New York Jets reportedly claimed Dolphins castoff receiver Clyde Gates off waivers on Saturday. Gates has much-needed speed but struggled in Miami to make plays. Perhaps the Jets feel they can coach Gates up and get more out of him in their system. Gates played in Miami under new Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, who gets to coach the receiver again.
