Filed under: NFL Analysis, NFL Labor Negotiations
As an NFL work stoppage continues to get closer, each side in the dispute continues to try very hard to convince the public that it will be the other side's fault. The latest salvo came Tuesday from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who published a long essay on the league's labor website (nfllabor.com) urging both sides to engage in "serious negotiations" in an effort to agree on a new collective bargaining agreement before the current one expires March 3."Today's collective bargain agreement does not work as it should from the standpoint of the teams," Goodell wrote. "If needed adjustments are made, the NFL will be better for everyone. The first step is making sure a new collective bargaining agreement is more balanced and supports innovation and growth."
