Bears players talk about the 38-34 victory Sunday over the Jets at Soldier Field:

CHRIS HARRIS

On the mood in the locker room afterward:

"The guys are extremely excited. It was one of those (games) where you don't care how you get it done; you just have to get it done."

On a shootout despite the two talented defenses:

"The offense did a great job putting up 38 points; they did a pretty good job, their offense putting up 34 points on us. The turnovers were kind of what made the difference."On the turnovers:

"First one, they ran a reverse and we got it out, the fumble on the reverse. I was just running to the ball and Peanut didn't quite get it, so I just wanted to make sure that it didn't go out of bounds and I came up with it."

On closing out the regular-season home slate with a win:

"It was very important. I think we were 4-3 at home, and our road record is better than our home record. We definitely know we are going to have a home playoff game so we need to get in the condition of winning at home and this is the first step."

LANCE BRIGGS

On if the fake punt came as a surprise:

"Can't really be surprised by anything. They want to win just like we want to win. They saw something that was an opportunity to continue that drive and they tried for it. Rashied (Davis) made a great play on that."

On the turning point in today's game:

"I think there were a lot of turning points in this game. I think one turning point was when we forced them to kick that field goal. When you think of a game like this between the Jets and the Bears and then you look up and its 31-31, goodness."

On Mark Sanchez's play:

"Sanchez is a good quarterback and I think that the guys that he's got around him -- he has a lot of talent around him. They did a lot of things; they run a lot of formations. Brad Smith really helps them -- wherever he is on the field -- running that wildcat style of offense. They are just a real quality team."

On getting a home win heading into the postseason:

"It's important to get this win, just as far as the postseason. It's important to win out the regular-season home games and give the Chicago Bears fans something to cheer about."

JOHNNY KNOX

On going up against a talented secondary like the Jets:

"We play against talent every day in practice; it's no different than that. They probably get a lot more recognition that the guys we go up against in practice, but we just go out there and play."

On closing in on 1,000 yards:

"It was a goal of mine for this season. I am just happy that we are still winning on top of that."

On coming out and changing the momentum in the third quarter:

"It was big for us. Coming in, we wanted to get the momentum rolling. The defense did a good job coming out in the second half, giving us the opportunity and the offense was just clicking."

On Rashied Davis' play on the fake punt:

"It was real big. The guy next to me (Rashied Davis) made a good play. He played DB back once in his pro career, so I wasn't surprised."

DEVIN HESTER

On capitalizing when given the chance on special teams:

"It felt great. I wanted to get my hands on the ball again and we knew that it wouldn't be a lot. So the opportunities that we did have, we wanted to make some plays."

On getting the crowd into it and pumping himself up:

"We were just having fun. If you can't have fun, then you shouldn't be playing football. I don't get that many opportunities, so when I do I want to make them miss."
