Antonio Gates' Foot Injury Ends His Season

San Diego Chargers' tight end Antonio Gates was officially ruled out of San Diego's season finale Sunday at Denver when the team on Thursday placed him on injured reserve because of lingering foot injuries.

Gates had missed five of the previous seven games with turf toe and a torn plantar fascia in his right foot. They were the first games the star tight end had missed due to injury in his career.
