ENGLEWOOD, Col. -- Getting a chance to showcase perhaps the surest hands in the league, Brandon Lloyd made one sensational catch after another in a breakout campaign for the Denver Broncos that earned the eight-year veteran his first trip to the Pro Bowl.Just about the only thing the wide receiver let slip -- through his mouth not his fingers -- was his true feelings toward the three teams that let him go earlier in his career.
Asked during a conference call Tuesday evening whether he'd like to say, "Told you so" to the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears, Lloyd shot back, "No, I want to say '(expletive) you.' And I mean that in the most professional way."
The profane dig at his former teams came up again during Lloyd's news conference Wednesday at the Broncos' Dove Valley practice facility, where the team began preparations for Sunday's regular season finale against San Diego.
Lloyd said with a smile that he had been told to "keep it clean, and I'm going to keep it clean." But when asked if he wanted to back off the sentiments he had expressed so colorfully the night before, he said simply, "No, nope."
